Freescale Q2 net sales up $286million year on year

Freescale Semiconductor has announced Q2 net sales of $1.11billion compared to $1.02bn in the first quarter of 2010 and $824million in the second quarter last year.

Rich Beyer, Freescale's chairman and ceo, said: "Second quarter results showed continued growth in revenues and profitability for Freescale. We are on a solid trajectory with four quarters of sequential growth, and our design win momentum continues to solidify our leadership in embedded processing solutions." The reported loss from operations for the three months ended July 2, 2010 was $18m, compared to a loss of $61m in the first quarter of 2010 and a loss of $345m in the second quarter of 2009. Microcontroller net sales were $387m in the second quarter of 2010, compared to $374m in the first quarter of 2010 and $240m year on year. RF, analogue and sensor net sales were $254m in the second quarter of 2010, compared to $245m in the first quarter of 2010 and $201m in the second quarter of 2009.
