Freescale Q1 net sales up 21 percent year on year

Freescale Semiconductor has announced first quarter net sales of $1.02billion a rise of 7% compared with the previous quarter and a 21% rise year on year.

Microcontroller net sales were $374m, compared to $333m in the fourth quarter of 2009 and $248m in the first quarter of 2009. RF, analogue and sensor net sales were $245m, compared to $221m in the fourth quarter of 2009 and $184m in the first quarter of 2009. Networking and multimedia net sales were $255m, compared to $251m in the fourth quarter of 2009 and $228m in the first quarter of 2009. Cellular net sales were $121m, compared to $116m in the fourth quarter of 2009 and $95m in the first quarter of 2009. Rich Beyer, Freescale's chairman and ceo said: "First quarter results continued to demonstrate solid growth in revenues and profitability for Freescale. All of our businesses grew both sequentially and year over year, and we continue to solidify our embedded processing leadership with design wins in our automotive, networking, consumer and industrial markets."
