Arduino compatible module measures 1 x 1.1in

An Arduino compatible open source module, compatible with the Arduino IDE development environment and existing Arduino sketches, is being pitched by Microduino on Kickstarter.

The module, developed around the ATmega328P processor, measure 1 x 1.1in and is equipped with a standard U shaped 27pin connector system to enable stacking of modules. There are 13 digital I/O and seven analogue I/O available in the base module. Three 'core' modules are being offered. The Microduino-Core is powered by the ATmega328P and is said to be 'completely compatible' with Arduino Uno. Microduino-Core+ features the ATmega644PA, along with two serial ports and an extra 10 digital I/O. Finally, a further Core+ variant features the ATmega1284P. The Microduino range is said to include a variety of modules, covering network, wireless communication, SD storage, GPS, Wi-Fi, motor/stepper driver and OLED displays. According to the Kickstarter page, the devices will sell for as little as $8.
