Ambient Photonics and e-peas to develop power solutions for connected devices

Ambient Photonics and e-peas are partnering to co-develop and market solutions that enable a new category of solar-powered connected devices.

The companies have designed solutions that pair Ambient’s high power density, low-cost indoor solar cells with e-peas’ ultra-efficient power management integrated circuits (PMICs), enabling device manufacturing partners to take disposable batteries out of the products they build entirely.

Ambient Photonics is a specialist in indoor-optimised solar technology, manufacturing cells that harvest 300 percent more energy from indoor light than traditional indoor solar cells, and e-peas is a developer of PMIC solutions for energy harvesting-based power supplies, enabled by their Ambient Energy Management (AEM) product family.

Under this strategic partnership, Ambient and e-peas will be able to jointly optimise, go-to-market, and fully support solutions that include best-in-class devices produced by the partners.

“Our partnership with e-peas builds upon years of high-level collaboration and a mutual commitment to driving a sustainability revolution in the connected market,” said Bates Marshall, CEO and Co-founder of Ambient Photonics. “The combination of our respective technologies promises to convert more clean energy from indoor light into power for connected devices than any other solution on the market.”

“This partnership solidifies our mutual commitment to innovating the next generation of electronics in support of our manufacturing clients,” said Geoffroy Gosset, CEO and Co-founder of e-peas. “By working with the Ambient team to bring transformative power management solutions to market, we are creating a new blueprint for energising sustainable, connected devices.”
