A universal way to assemble stretchable devices in ‘Lego-like’ manner

Connecting electronic modules is now child's play.

An international team led by researchers from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (NTU Singapore) has developed a universal connector that makes assembling stretchable devices as easy as building with Lego figures.

This biphasic, nano-dispersed interface (BIND interface) can stretch up to seven times its own length before breaking. The nanotechnology used to develop the interface also offers great electrical and mechanical performance, even when underwater.
