Yokogawa updates optical spectrum analysis portfolio

With a diffraction grating based monochromator delivering high-precision measurement performance and accuracy, an enhanced user interface and an air purging feature, the AQ6374 from Yokogawa is a wideband optical spectrum analyser said to be a powerful benchtop tool for general purpose measurements over wavelengths ranging from 350 to 1750 nm.

Inheriting the control technologies developed for the AQ6370 series, the AQ6374 model is said to offer superior operability and the ability to sample 100001 points of data – 100 times as much as the AQ6315A.

Monochromator technology includes a wavelength resolution setting from 0.05 to 10nm, a wavelength accuracy of ±0.05nm at 633 and 1523nm or ±0.2nm (from 350 to 1700nm), a level accuracy of ±1dB, level sensitivity of -80dBm from 900 to 1600 nm and a measurable power range from -80 to +20dBm. Sweep time is said to be less than 0.5s.

With 512Mbyte of internal storage and support for external data storage via a USB interface, the device offers Ethernet RJ-45 and GP‐IB interfaces. A built‐in calibration source allows for automatic optical alignment and wavelength calibration.
