IP67 rated controller for IIoT applications

The IC-3173 industrial controller is said by National Instruments to be its first IP67 rated controller and suited for use as an Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) edge node in harsh locations.

The high-performance fanless device delivers high levels of processing and connectivity to support applications such as automated image processing, data acquisition and control applications.

With 8Gbyte of DDR3 RAM, 64Gbyte of storage, four Gigabit Power over Ethernet ports, two USB 3.0 ports and two DisplayPorts, the controller is powered by a Intel Core i7 processor and features a Xilinx Kintex-7 FPGA. The latter device is said to improve system performance by providing custom I/O timing, synchronisation, control and image coprocessing capabilities.
