H-bridges save space, tolerate higher currents

A pair of MOSFET H-bridges from Diodes is said to simplify motor driving and inductive wireless charging circuits by cutting component count, whilst reducing PCB footprint by 50%.

Rated at 40V, the DMHC4035LSD is targeted at automotive motor applications, whereas the DMHC3025LSD, rated at 30V, is suitable for 12V single-phase fan applications.

Both devices enclosed a full H-bridge – comprising dual N- and dual P-channel MOSFETs – in an SO-8 package measuring 5 x 6mm. According to the developer, the parts can replace four SOT23 or two SO-8 packages in a range of space constrained automotive and industrial applications.

Low conduction losses mean the H-bridges can tolerate higher continuous current during motor stalls – 3A and 2A respectively in an ambient temperature of 70ºC.
