Converters offer wide input range in a compact package

XP Power has launched the ITQ series of 6W DC/DC converters. Packaged in a compact SIP 8-pin format, with a footprint of 21.9 x 11.1 x 9.2mm, the ITQ series takes up less board space giving designers more room to add features or the ability to reduce end product size.

The single and dual output models accept a 4:1 input voltage range of 9 to 36V DC or 18 to 75V DC. Single output models provide standard 3.3, 5, 9, 12, 15, 24V DC, while dual modules offer ±5, ±12 or ±15V DC. Standard input/output isolation is rated at 1500V DC with optional 3000V DC isolation available.

The converter delivers a power density of up to 44W/in³ and is said to have a typical efficiency of 87%, making it suited to green standard end products. XP claims the high efficiency means the ITQ series produces less wasted heat and does not require forced airflow or heatsinking for cooling.

The ITQ series can operate in environments without requiring forced airflow and has an operating temperature range from -40 to 100°C with full output power being delivered up to 70°C without derating.
