Audio receivers reduce space in next gen hearing aids
A new family of balanced armature audio receivers has been introduced by Molex.
Aimed at the hearing aid market, the devices are said to provide up to 20% space savings versus similar competitive products and up to 75%versus dynamic receivers.
Molex claims they also offer substantially more sound output per unit size and cleaner mid range sound compared to dynamic style receivers.
Anthony Kalaijakis, strategic medical market manager, Molex, commented: "By combining our precision manufacturing capabilities and audio business expertise, we provide audio oems with the ability to cost effectively design products half the size of traditional hearing aids yet with superior sound output and quality."
The receivers are customisable, allowing oems to adjust the impedance or other specifications to meet specific requirements. They are also suitable for the premium in-ear earphone market.
