York EMC changes name, Eurofins buys MET Labs

Following its purchase in 2017 by Eurofins Group, York EMC Services has changed its name to Eurofins York, not only reflecting the new ownership, but also the broader range of regulatory compliance products and services available.

Eurofins York chief executive Nick Wainwright, noted: “Being part of a truly global company enables us to offer new services through our international network of laboratory partners through a single point of contact.”

Meanwhile, Eurofins Scientific has acquired MET Laboratories, a US companiy providing test, certification and compliance solutions for electrical products.

The company, which has 200 employees in the US, China, Taiwan and Korea, addresses the medical device, household appliance, automotive and aerospace markets.

Rob Frier, president of MET Labs, said: “Joining the Eurofins network was a natural progression and provides major growth opportunities for our business and extended services for our clients. With the global network and backing of one of the world’s leading testing and certification organisations, MET’s customers will benefit from enhanced service offerings and innovation.”
