The Consumer Products Testing division of Eurofins Scientific has acquired Electronic Test and Calibration (ETC) and Hursley EMC Services.

ETC has provided accredited calibration services for over 25 years from its base in Bideford, Devon.

Becky Scott, ETC, MD, said: “The stability and backing of one of the world’s leading testing and certification companies will enable ETC to deliver the benefits of new and innovative services to its clients.”

Hursley EMC Services has specialised in EMC testing, certification, and compliance solutions for over 20 years. It operates from two sites in Southampton and is led by Rob St John James and Julian Jones, both of whom remain with the company.

Rob St John James, said: “Joining the Eurofins network was a natural progression for Hursley EMC Services and we are excited about the prospect of joining a respected and progressive international company. This provides a major growth opportunity for our business as well as providing extended services to our clients from the wider Eurofins network.”

The acquisitions bring the number of Eurofins E&E product testing sites in the UK to 6, which the company has said will enable easy access to services for manufacturers throughout the UK.

“The acquisition of ETC and Hursley further demonstrates the ambition of Eurofins be the market leader in calibration, testing and certification, following the 2017 acquisition of York EMC Services,” explained Nick Wainwright, MD of Eurofins. “The new acquisitions support our shared plans to meet increasing demand, as well as offering the most comprehensive range of calibration, testing, certification and compliance solutions.”
