In a move which is said to underpin its ability to provide regulatory compliance services, York EMC Services (YES) has been acquired by Eurofins Product Testing.

YES was formed in 1995 as a wholly owned subsidiary of the University of York and has since developed into a leading provider of regulatory compliance products and services in the UK and overseas, with laboratories in Grangemouth, Castleford and Bristol.

Nick Wainwright, pictured, YES’ CEO, noted: “YES has grown rapidly over the last five years and we have made significant investments in our laboratories and our products and services. By joining Eurofins, we can ensure this momentum is maintained and that our business continues to develop.”

Eurofins Group provides analytical services through an international network with more than 300 laboratories in 39 countries and 28,000 staff.

Stephane Barrau, Eurofins’ vice president of consumer products testing, added: “We are pleased to welcome YES to the Eurofins Group. YES provides Eurofins with a good entry into the electrical and electronic testing market in the UK and reinforces our footprint in Europe.

“We are looking forward to contributing to, and strengthening YES’ position in its market, as well as expanding the portfolio of tests it offers.”
