Vicor opens industry’s first 'ChiP' fabrication facility

Vicor has announced the opening of a new, state-of-the-art power module manufacturing facility.

The world’s first ChiP (Converter housed in Package) fabrication facility delivers scalable, automated, and cost-effective manufacturing of power modules to support customers worldwide.

The ChiP foundry will provide 45% more manufacturing floor capacity to meet high-volume requirements of ChiP customers on a global scale.

With its new ChiP foundry, Vicor has taken a major step toward enabling and delivering high-performance, modular power solutions capable of meeting demanding power requirements across a range of high-growth markets.

The new vertically integrated ChiP fab uses patented fabrication processes enabling power-dense and energy efficient solutions.
