TI unveils lowest phase noise frequency synthesiser
Texas Instruments' new wideband frequency synthesiser, the LMX2581, is designed to deliver the industry's lowest phase noise, as well as ultra low noise phase locked loop (PLL) and the industry's highest phase detector frequency.
The new module features an integrated voltage controlled oscillator and is targeted at applications including wireless infrastructure, radar, medical imaging, defence, aerospace and test and measurement.
Phase detector frequency is rated at 200MHz, while the module is said to have an ultra low PLL normalised phase noise of -229dBc/Hz, providing a precision local oscillator to an rf front end for better receiver sensitivity.
