'Lowest noise' PLL offers improved RF sensitivity
Expanding its clock and timing portfolio, Texas Instruments has introduced a 14GHZ fractional-N phased-locked loop (PLL) with advanced frequency modulation.
The LMX2492 is said to offer the industry's best noise performance of -227dBc/Hz (6dB better than the nearest competitor), for improved RF sensitivity, radar range and accuracy.
The device also supports a 200MHz phase frequency detector, a 5V charge pump supply and an operating frequency range of 500MHz to 14GHz.
The LMX2492 is offered in industrial and automotive grade (class 1) for military and automotive radar, microwave backhaul, communications, and test and measurement applications.
An integrated, flexible Fractional-N engine and low noise LDOs allow designers to eliminate external components and simplify the system complexity, enabling faster time to market.
