Announcing plans for 2018, the organisers of electronica say the world’s largest electronics exhibition will occupy 16 halls at Messe Munich; three more than in 2016. One of the new halls will see SEMICON Europa running as a co-located event.

According to exhibition director Angela Marten: “We are very satisfied with the way the fair is developing and are especially pleased to have received registrations from several first-time exhibitors.”

While continuing to focus on automotive, embedded systems, LEDs/SSL, industrial IoT, cyber security and medical electronics, electronica 2018 will also see attention paid artificial intelligence and smart energy/smart grids.
The electronica forum programme is also being expanded, with a new forum addressing plug connectors, along with another on smart grids/smart energy. All presentations will be labelled as either BusinessTalks or TechTalks; the latter addressing the specific needs of engineers and developers and required to be technical in nature.

Meanwhile, the electronica conference programme will be delivered at Messe Munich’s ICM. Alongside the existing automotive, embedded platforms and wireless conferences, the organiser is adding conferences addressing medical electronics and cyber physical systems.

electronica 2018 takes place at Messe Munich from 13 to 16 November 2018.
