Two new families have been added to XP Power's range of compact metal cased dc/dc converters.

The JCG15 and JTF15 series are said to offer a power density of up to 37.5W per cubic inch with an efficiency of up to 91%. Available in a 24pin DIP measuring 31.75 x 20.32 x 10.16mm, the company says their design results in less wasted heat and assists in thermal management of the end system. Providing nominal inputs of 12, 24 or 48VDC, the JCG15 series accommodates 2:1 input ranges of 9 to 18, 18 to 36 and 36 to 75VDC. The JTF15 accepts 4:1 inputs of 9 to 36 and 18 to 75VDC. Both single and dual output models are available. Single outputs are 3.3, 5.1, 12 or 15VDC and duals are +/- 5, +/- 12 or +/- 15VDC. The converters have an input to output and input/output to case isolation of 1600VDC. A remote on/off signal control is standard across the range and can be used to control the output rails or to sequence start up procedures. All the units feature overvoltage and continuous short circuit protection. The JCG series operates from - 40 to 100°C and the JTF series to 105 °C.
