XP Power offers encapsulated 80W AC/DC modules

The ECE80 series of 80W single output AC/DC encapsulated power supply modules from XP is said to have low no load input power. The modules are suitable for customers requiring a solution in a compact format for either PCB, chassis, or DIN rail mounting.

The ECE80 series is available in three formats: a PCB mount version, a chassis mount version with screw terminals, and a DIN rail version with screw terminals.

Applications include automation and process control, broadcast, instrumentation, mobile communications and home automation.

With a peak load capability up to 130% of nominal rated power output for 30s, ECE80 modules can power short term higher power loads.

With a high power density superior to 11.2 W/in3, the ECE80 PCB mount module measures 91.4 x 45.72 x 28.0mm and the chassis mount module measures 113.0 x 47.5 x 28.5mm.Five standard output voltages are available from 12 to 48V DC.

The modules’ no load power consumption inferior to 0.3W and efficiency of up to 89% are said to help designers meet current green requirements in their end applications. The devices’ class II construction means that no ground connection is required, simplifying design.

Operating in temperatures ranging from -40 to 70°C, the ECE80 modules do not need additional heat sinking or airflow.

The modules meet Class B conducted and radiated EMC limits without any additional components, and are UL/CSA/EN/IEC 60950-1 safety agency approved.
