TI launches SAS-3 repeater for enterprise server, storage and router systems
Texas Instruments has introduced a signal conditioner capable of driving the serial-attached SCSI (SAS-3) protocol.
In addition to supporting the faster data rates of the newest SCSI standard, the DS125BR800A multi-protocol repeater is compatible with existing 3Gb/s and 6Gb/s SAS link rates used in data centre applications.
It also supports the PCI Express (PCIe) Gen-1, Gen-2, Gen-3 and SATA 1.5Gb/s, 3Gb/s and 6Gb/s interface standards.
According to TI, this flexibility allows equipment manufacturers to employ one device for multiple protocols with data rates up to 12.5Gb/s.
The DS125BR800A is available in a 10 x 5.5mm, 54pin QFN package.
