Tantalum capacitors offer high reliability, lowest DCL
AVX Corporation has announced the TMJ S1gma series of high reliability SMD tantalum capacitors.
The devices offer three levels of statistical screening and process control enhancement for applications that require both high reliability and extremely low dc leakage current (DCL).
Available with DCL limits of 0.001 and 0.005CV, they are also said to exhibit the lowest DCL of any existing tantalum capacitor currently on the market.
The capacitors feature a baseline part failure rate of < 0.5% per 1,000 hours at 85°C and rated volts.
According to AVX, they are suited to avionics, medical, safety system and long life battery operated applications.
