Next generation monitoring and control of energy devices

Powervar has developed two IoT products that enable facilities managers to use next generation site monitoring to gain an in-depth insight of not only their energy use, but also the state of health of their key assets.

In a move to serve the growing market for ‘Whole Facility management’ for commercial and industrial premises, the Atlas FA and Latitude FMD software are claimed to provide a complete package solution. Not only does this package allow facilities managers to monitor their equipment and receive an early warning of issues such as malfunctioning devices and energy inefficiencies, it is also said to enable full integration with power conditioners and UPS systems.

Atlas FA is a next generation hardware platform that features an intuitive interface that brings an entire facility together within a single box. Unlike other similar systems, it extends beyond HVAC, lighting and refrigeration - which can account for less than the 50% of the overall energy use, and can look at anything consuming electricity - fuel pumps, vendor supplied equipment and more.

Latitude FMD is a software tool for running analysis on many divergent data sets, and is said to feature an easy-to-use dashboard tailored to the effective understanding and management of numerous facilities globally. Latitude FMD incorporates the most sophisticated analysis, graphing and mapping engines to create a seamless experience for effective management and reporting on an entire facility.

With modern facilities requiring more power than ever to run day-to-day operations, Atlas FA and Latitude FMD are said to help eliminate unnecessary runtime – such as HVAC equipment left running overnight. Powervar anticipates that its system could potentially achieve immediate energy related savings of up to 20%, with additional annual savings of 5 to 15%.
