Arbor has released the IOT-500, an HMI panel engineered to provide the highest level of flexibility and reliability to support automation and system optimisation requirements. The IOT-500 is based on the Dual Core MTK MT2601 industrial chipset from MediaTek, and features support for the Android v5.1 operating system that combines robust processing power, an open operating system and a flexible hardware configuration.

Connectivity features include LAN, two USB2.0, an RS232 COM, a GSM/GPRS SIM slot, 2-megapixel camera and speaker with built-in MIC. It also supports DC power input range from 12 to 24V and provides four GPIO ports and a CAN BUS for motor vehicle interface.

The IOT-500 is claimed to provide flexibility and compatibility with commercial equipment, industrial machinery, motor vehicles and complex systems requiring virtualisation, remote monitoring, data acquisition and control.

The device features a five inch high-resolution display and durable capacitive touch interface. The IP-65 ingress protection rating, an MIL810 certification for shock and absorption, and an operating temperature range of -10 to 50°C means the IOT-500 is suited for tasks in challenging environments.
