Multilayer base switch blade

Adlink Technology has launched the aTCA-3150, a 24 port GbE AdvancedTCA multilayer base switch blade, based on Broadcom BCM56312 switch silicon. It has been designed to provide networking capabilities for Ethernet Switching in telecommunication and high end networking applications.

According to Adlink, the technology supports up to 13 GbE ports for a 14 slot PICMG 3.0 ATCA system, with six egress GbE ports and two 10GbE SFP+ uplink ports via front panel access. The Adlink aTCA-3150 is said to incorporate Broadcom's Fastpath networking software and has been designed for ATCA adopters (NEPs & TEMs) who require AMC modularity, Gigabit layer 3 switching, a scalable controlplane engine and high availability Base Interface. The aTCA-3150 is said to be ideal for ATCA platform adopters who require high speed and high bandwidth data transport interconnects for packet switching and highly flexible external I/O access. ADLINK claims it meets the bandwidth intensive switching requirements for applications such as IP Multimedia Subsystems (IMS) servers, media gateways, 3G wireless, network monitoring, Unified Threat Management servers, packet inspection servers and enterprise media servers.
