High input voltage DC/DC converter range launched

A range of high voltage input DC/DC converters from Powerbox is intended for use in microgrid, data centre and industrial applications. The devices are available in four power ratings – 150, 300, 600 and 750W – and in quarter, half and full-brick formats.

The 150W rated PQB150-300S is a quarter-brick format supply which accepts an input voltage from 180V DC to 425V DC. There are seven output voltages; 3.3V DC/30A, 5V DC/30A, 12V DC/12.5A, 15V DC/10A, 24V DC/6.3A, 28V DC/5.4A and 48V DC/3.2A and typical efficiency is said to be 89%.

The half brick format PHB300-300S is rated at 300W. It offers five output voltages – 5V DC/60A, 12V DC/25A, 24V DC/12.5A, 28V DC/10.7A and 48V DC/6.25A – from a 180V DC to 425V DC input and with a typical efficiency of 89%.

The PFB600-300S range of full-brick 600W modules accepts input voltages between 200V DC and 400V DC. It offers four output voltages; 5V DC/80A, 12V DC/50A, 24V DC/25A, and 48V DC/12.5A. The power efficiency is typically 89% and up to 91% on the 24 and 48VDC outputs. For redundancy or additional power, the units include active current sharing.

Completing the line up are 750W PFB750-300S full-brick modules operating from inputs between 200V DC and 425V DC. Six output voltages can be selected – 12V DC/62.5A, 15V DC/50A, 24V DC/31.2A, 28V DC/26.7A, 36V DC/20.8A and 48V DC/15.6A. The typical efficiency is 90% and the product includes active current sharing.

The PFB600-300S and PFB750-300S have an output trim range of 60 to 110% that allows them to be used as a constant current source or as a secondary battery charger.

Designed for use in industrial environments, the PQB-PHB-PFB300S series operate in temperatures ranging from -40 to 100°C, with a thermal shutdown facility set at 105°C.

All products in the PRBX PQB-PHB-PFB300S series include under-voltage, over-voltage protection and lockout, continuous short circuit protection, current limiting and over-temperature protection.
