Sixteenth brick dc/dc converter launched
Emerson Network Power has launched the ALD15, a sixteenth brick dc/dc converter. Said to be suitable for use with telecom standard 48V power supplies, the converters can achieve efficiencies of up to 92% at full load and are cost effective when used in applications requiring up to 35W of output power.
The ALD15 series, which has an installed height of 0.35in, is available in five power ratings – 13A/1.8V, 11A/2.5V, 10A/3.3V, 7A/5V and 2.75A/12V – and accept input voltages ranging from 36 to 75V dc. The converters are also protected against overcurrent and overtemperature conditions.
Available in through hole and surface mount configurations, ALD15 family members have identical pin assignments, which also match with those of standard quarter and eighth brick converters. This, says Emerson, simplifies design.
