Half and full-bridge drivers are 'industry's first'

The industry's first small form factor half and full-bridge drivers have been introduced by Intersil.

The devices are designed to extend power usage and overall product life in Lithium-Ion battery powered products operating from 5 to 50V. The HIP2103 and HIP2104 have a configurable topology to enable half-bridge, full-bridge and three phase motor-driven applications. A special safety feature prevents voltage kickback. The bridge drivers offer a low sleep mode current to minimise power consumption when not in use or in stand-by mode. In addition, the HIP2104 includes integrated linear regulator LDOs to enable direct bias from the battery and an integrated bootstrap FET, which eliminates the need for external diodes. Suitable for equipment such as portable medical equipment, handheld power tools and home automation products, the drivers offer long battery life, longevity and high reliability.
