Gigabit interfaces added to Han-Modular connector range

HARTING has expanded its Han-Modular connector family with the addition of two shielded Cat 6A data modules. The modules combine high mating-cycle (HMC) capability with operation at data rates in the Gigabit Ethernet range.

Designed for use with the basic Han-Modular HMC hinged frame, the two modules are the Han Megabit HMC module and the Han Gigabit HMC module. According to the company, both modules provide secure and shielded data transmission at up to 10,000 mating cycles. An optimised surface in the mating area is said to ensure long-lasting and reliable performance.

The Han Megabit HMC module can be deployed with megabit Ethernet Cat 5E, and is suitable in applications that, in addition to reliable data transmission, require robustness of the interface. The Han Gigabit HMC module enables the use of Gigabit Ethernet Cat 6A and can transfer sensitive data bus signals. As a result, the Han family can now supply the three lifelines of industrial applications: data, signals and power.

The two products are complemented by a selection of modules and contacts for power and signal transmission.
