Eurotech launches rugged COM Express Type 6 module

Eurotech, a provider of embedded systems, has launched a new fanless COM Express module for rugged and HPEC applications.

The CPU-162-24 is a COM Express Basic (125x95mm) Type 6 module based on the Intel Xeon E3-1505L v6 and 1505M v6 processors and supports up to 2 DDR4 SO-DIMMs with ECC, for a total capacity of 32GB.

Intended for high performance graphics and video applications, the CPU-162-24 features an integrated GPU that provides hardware acceleration and up to three simultaneous video outputs.

IoT, industrial, transportation and defence applications will benefit from the low power consumption of this high-end CPU, which delivers fanless computing in extended operating temperature range (-40°C to +85°C).

With a long-life cycle, optional conformal coating and a soldered down CPU, the CPU-162-24 is a reliable building block for fanless Edge devices and Edge servers that need to perform consistently in harsh environmental conditions.

This new product further expands Eurotech COM Express portfolio, ranging from the CPU-162-23, a Xeon D-1500 Basic Type 7 module, to the CPU-163-16, a Mini Type 10 with the Intel E3900 CPU.

Eurotech Professional Services are offered as an option and include BIOS personalization, carrier board design, system development and production. Deep module customization, such as feature changes are also available.

The CPU-162-24 supports Eurotech Everyware Linux and Windows 10 IoT Enterprise; full support for customer carrier board enablement and RTOS are available through Eurotech Professional Services, just like the full integration with Eurotech’s IoT Edge Framework Everyware Software Framework (ESF). ESF provides native connectivity with many IoT Cloud services and among them, Everyware Cloud (EC – separately available), Eurotech’s IoT Integration Platform, which allows remote device and data management and integration with analytics and IT applications.
