electronica - Test solution for remote keyless entry systems

A universal solution has been announced by Rohde & Schwarz which tests vehicle keys and the associated electronic control units with their various wireless technologies. With a modular and scalable approach, the system is said to test at the printed board and device level in all product phases - from development to product qualification to mass production.

No matter which technology the manufacturers of the vehicle key systems select, testing requirements in development and production are said to be high to ensure interference-free functioning.

The central unit is the CompactTSVP PXI-based test system with an optional embedded CPU. The system manages the supply of power to the device under test (DUT) and measures the supply currents in the various operating modes, even time-synchronised to RF bursts from ultra-wide bandwidth signals. The system also handles wireline DUT communications such as LIN, CAN, I2C and SPI.

AnFPS spectrum analyser evaluates RF signals in the frequency and time domain. A Helmholtz magnetic coil and corresponding 3D magnetic field power generator are used to test and calibrate magnetic compass systems. The solution also includes software packages to control test sequences and manage the collected measurement data.
