DC/DC converters for high power applications

High isolation DC/DC converters from Murata Power Solutions have been designed for use in high and low side gate-drive circuits for IGBTs and silicon and silicon carbide MOSFETs in bridge circuits for motor control and industrial power applications.

Rated at 6W, the dual output converters provide a 2:1 input voltage range with nominal values of 5, 12 and 24V, and with output voltages of 15/-10V, 20/-5V and 15/-5V.

Called the MGJ6 series, the wide, low-profile series converters feature a 14mm creepage and clearance distance suited to higher efficiency 690V AC industrial electrical distribution systems.

Suitable for power applications that require a DC link voltage up to 3kV DC, the converters have asymmetric outputs that provide an optimum drive level in order to maintain a high system efficiency with low EMI levels.

The converters operate in temperatures ranging from -40 to 105°C, with derating at more than 90°C. Standard features include enable pin, short-circuit and overload protection, and a frequency synchronisation pin that simplifies EMC filter design.
