The PI3523 operates from a 48V supply, producing a 3.3V output capable of supplying up to 22A. Offering the same features as Vicor’s existing 48V Cool-Power ZVS buck regulators, the PI352x portfolio extends delivers twice the power of PI354x regulators from a a 40% larger package. According to Vicor, the PI3523 only requires an output inductor and a minimal number of passives to construct a design that requires less than 740mm2 of PCB space. Designed for up to three devices to be paralleled, the PI352x regulators can be scaled to support higher current loads.
According to the company, the PI352x family addresses a growing need for 48V direct-to-PoL solutions in applications such as lighting, communications, automotive equipment and data centres.
