Bridge links USB to I2S

A fixed-function audio bridge from Silicon Labs is said to provide a turnkey solution for transferring digital audio data between the USB and I2S interfaces.

The single chip CP2615 is available in a 5 x 5mm QFN32 package, making it suitable for applications with limited PCB space. It includes a USB 2.0 full-speed function controller, USB transceiver, on-chip oscillator, I2S audio interface, I2C control interface and embedded flash memory. This eliminates the need for external components, reducing PCB size and materials cost.

The bridge can be used with headphones requiring a 48kHz sampling rate, but is also useful for creating USB dongles that interface with an analogue jack.
