Artesyn announces 550W CRPS server power supply

A 550W server power supply has been launched by Artesyn Embedded Technologies which is said to follow the Intel Common Redundant Power Supply (CRPS) specification and which is designed for hyper-converged compute, networking and storage infrastructure in enterprise IT and cloud environments.

The CSU550AP is housed in a 1U high enclosure measuring just 73.5 x 185mm, said to be achieved by using the latest power switching technology and high density component packaging techniques.

The power supply features inputs ranging from 90 to 264V A/C, active power factor correction and is certified for 80+ platinum rated efficiency peaking at 94%.

The CSU550AP generates a main output of 12V DC for feeding downstream DC/DC converters in systems using distributed power architectures. A 12V DC standby output rated at 3A can be used for power management or supervisory circuitry. The main DC output of the CSU550AP can deliver up to 45.8A. Active current sharing helps maximise cost effectiveness by eliminating the need for additional components when paralleling multiple power supplies for high current applications.

The CSU550AP power supply is hot pluggable and compatible with the company’s universal PMBus graphical user interface, allowing control via an integral I2C interface using the PMBus communications protocol with Class A 6dB margin conducted/radiated EMI and RoHS certification.
