Wolfson wins socket in Microsoft’s Zune HD

Zune HD, Microsoft's portable media player, has been launched in the US. The portable media player combines an HD radio receiver, HD video output capabilities, an OLED touchscreen, Wi-Fi and an internet browser.

The device features Wolfson's WM8352, a power management device with an integrated stereo codec. Jess Brown, power management product line manager at Wolfson, said: "We are delighted to have Microsoft select our technology for the next generation Zune HD. It is also a great testimony to the quality of support that the Wolfson team provided to Microsoft on the previous Zune, where the WM8350 was used."
