Wolfson expands AudioPlus range
Wolfson has expanded its AudioPlus smart power product line with the introduction of the WM8400. The device combines a multimedia codec with power management facilities to deliver the audio and mixing capabilities required by the latest mobile handsets.
Paul Wilson, Wolfson’s power management product line manager, noted: “Mobile handset designers are under pressure to deliver products with higher performance audio into smaller form factors with longer battery life. Solutions like the WM8400 … enable significant power consumption reductions with no compromise in audio quality.”
The device’s codec can select through software either Class AB or Class D speaker driver operation, whilst there is a range of power management options.
