Toshiba to launch 64Gb embedded NAND flash memory

Toshiba has announced what it claims to be the highest capacity memory module in the world.

The 64Gb embedded NAND Flash memory module combines 16 32Gbit NAND chips and incorporates a 'chip thinning' technique, said to result in individual chips of only 30micrometres thick. The module is fully compliant with the latest eMMC standard and has been designed for applications such as smartphones, mobile phones and netbooks. Mass production is set for Q1 of 2010.
