ST executives changed in run up to new strategic plan

In what appears to be the first move in a corporate restructuring, Philippe Lambinet, STMicroelectronics' corporate strategy officer and general manager of its digital sector, has left the company to pursue 'other interests'.

Lambinet has been replaced as corporate strategy officer by Georges Penalver, pictured, previously managing director of Sagem's communications business group. Jean-Marc Chery will assume the role of general manager, digital sector, alongside his current position as chief technology and manufacturing officer. Several other promotions were announced as part of the moves. Meanwhile, ST will present its new strategic plan in December. The company says the plan will speed progress towards a previously announced financial model, but will take into account the changed market environment and some specific customer dynamics. It also says its analogue and digital businesses should become 'sustainable segments of ST' as soon as possible.
