Oscilloscope reaches ‘world’s highest bandwidth’

LeCroy claims to have introduced the ‘world’s highest bandwidth’ in the shape of its WaveMaster 8 Zi series oscilloscopes.

Providing up to 30GHz of bandwidth, the series incorporates a number of versatile oscilloscope platforms. Nicola Gomiero, sales manager for UK and Italy, said: “The WaveMaster 8Xi series sets new standards for high bandwidth performance. Not only does it allow accurate characterisation of the highest speed signals, but its X-Stream II architecture provides astonishingly fast processing speeds and instantaneous front panel response with long acquisition records.” LeCroy has found a way to make long acquisition memory faster, by reducing the cache size of wave signals and saving memory. This allows users to capture, zoom, measure and analyse multiple waveforms up to 256 Mpts deep. “What you experience is a performance gain of 10-20x over what is available today.” Gomiero added. “When the application calls for post processing data offline, an optional high speed 250Mpts/second data transfer provides readout over 10 times faster than any other test instrument.”
