Newtons4th launches entry level power analyser

Looking to meet demand for a 'budget' power analyser, Newtons4th has launched the entry level PPA500.

The device is said to include many features of the more expensive instruments in the range, including a gain mode for standby power measurement, high speed sampling with gapless measurement and high accuracy internal shunt. It is available in 1, 2 or 3 phase configurations with the option to install it in a 19in rack so two units can be positioned side by side to provide a 2U 6 phase solution. The device offers a basic accuracy of 0.05%. "With the release of the PPA500, Newtons4th are making the kind of performance that is usually associated with high cost power analysers available in what is essentially a budget instrument," commented general Manager, David Sheath. "It should represent a significant challenge to the existing players at this end of the market."
