Navetas, Texas Instruments sign energy monitoring partnership

In a deal that aims to accelerate time to market for products based on its disaggregation technology, Navetas Energy Management has signed a partnership agreement with Texas Instruments (TI).

The partnership will enable the companies to embed Navetas' home energy monitoring technology on TI's processor platforms. By embedding its algorithms on TI's silicon, Navetas hopes to enable the rapid integration and global expansion of its technology into new smart metering and smart grid systems. "This partnership is another major milestone for Navetas," commented Navetas ceo Chris Saunders. "It clearly demonstrates the global potential of energy disaggregation technology as the burgeoning home energy monitoring sector begins to scale around the world." Energy disaggregation can show households how much energy individual appliances are using. Navetas says that its technology is self learning and can monitor appliance level energy use from a single point, namely the smart meter, in real time.
