National Semiconductor Q4 revenue up 42% year on year

National Semiconductor has reported year on year revenue growth of almost 42% in its fourth quarter.

The company which manufactures chips for power management and signal amplification reported net income of $79.2million on $398.5m in revenue for the quarter ended May 30. That compares with a loss of $63.7m on $280.8m in revenue in the same period a year earlier. According to National, demand for chips for cell phones and industrial uses drove sales in the quarter, with further sales increases expected this quarter. For the full fiscal year, the company reported net income of $209m on $1.42billion in revenue. In the previous year, earnings were $73m on revenue of $1.46bn. The manufacturer said it expects fiscal first quarter revenue between $410m and $418m.
