Multilayer power inductor is ‘world’s smallest’
TDK has expanded its MLP series of multilayer power inductors to include the MLP1005M1R0D.
The new component measures just 1.0 x 0.5 x 0.7mm and is claimed to be the smallest of its kind in the industry.
In addition, TDK says both the footprint and the volume of the inductor are about 60% smaller than existing products.
Available now, the device offers a rated inductance of 1.0µH and a rated current of 500mA.
It is designed for use in the power supply circuits of smartphones, tablet pcs, digital cameras and other mobile devices.
