Lattice ships 15m iCE fpgas in a year

According to Lattice Semiconductor, it has shipped 15million iCE fpgas since December 2011, making the devices its fastest shipping product of the past decade.

"Lattice has invested significantly and is alone in meeting the low power and small form factor requirements necessary for broad deployment of fpgas in mobile and consumer product designs," claimed Mustafa Veziroglu, vp of marketing and business development. "We are extremely gratified at the widespread and enthusiastic adoption of our iCE40 devices." The iCE40 fpga family was developed by Silicon Blue, which Lattice acquired for $62million in December 2011. The products were initially unveiled in July 2011 and targeted at such applications as smartphones, tablets, digital still cameras and other space and power constrained systems.
