IQD launches 'world's smallest' ocxo

IQD Frequency Products has announced what it believes to be the world's smallest surface mount oven controlled crystal oscillator (ocxo).

Developed by Rakon, one of the company's technology partners, the new IQOV-40 series features stabilities down to +/-20ppb over an operating temperature range of -40 to 85°C. It measures 9.7 x 7.5 x 4.1mm and frequency can be specified anywhere between 5 and 50MHz with standard frequencies of 10, 12.8, 19.2 and 20MHz being available on short lead times. The series is suitable for applications such as digital signal processors, telecommunications transmission hubs, cellular base stations as well as high grade test equipment. Multiple versions allow operation with either a 3.3 or a 5V power supply and either a clipped sine wave or hcmos output. According to IQD, phase noise figures are typically -125dBc/Hz at 100Hz away from carrier and -150dBc/Hz at 100kHz away from carrier. Current consumption is less than 400mW steady state and frequency stability is +/-10ppb over the commercial temperature range of -20 to 70°C.
