Greener relay plant

European manufacturer of plug in relays and relay sockets, Finder, has turned to photovoltaic technology to reduce emissions and energy costs at its prime manufacturing plants in Turin, Italy.

The pilot photovoltaic installation, constructed using multicrystalline silicon modules, can deliver a power output of 55kw, producing 61,000kwh/year. Finder expects the installation to help reduce CO2 emissions by about 37 tons/year, while achieving annual savings of around 11 tonnes of oil equivalent. The company intends to continue to implement specific projects aimed at enhancing natural resource management to reduce both pollution and energy consumption.
