Digi-Key goes global with Samsung Electro-Mechanics

Digi-Key has signed a global distribution deal with passive component specialist Samsung Electro-Mechanics.

Established in 1973 as a subsidiary of Samsung, Samsung Electro-Mechanics (SEMCO) consists of four divisions: optical and mechatronics; circuit drive; advanced circuit interconnect; and LCR. It has a manufacturing presence in five countries and direct sales presence in fifteen countries. "SEMCO has become a market leader in providing passive components and we are happy to bring their world class capabilities to our global customer base," said Tom Busher, vp of global interconnect, passive, and electromechanical products at Digi-Key. Kenny Yi, SEMCO's vp of sales and marketing, added: "We are pleased to partner with Digi-Key to distribute our extensive line up of capacitors, resistors, inductors, crystals and development tools.
