Concentrated power

Mercury Computer Systems has unveiled its smallest embedded system. Although measuring 4 x 5 x 6in, the PowerBlock 50 system is capable of delivering in excess of 100GFLOPs.

“PowerBlock 50 … revolutionises the ability to perform extreme computing in space and weight constrained applications,” claimed Brian Hoerl, vp of sales for Advanced Computing Solutions. The device has been optimised for real time image, sensor and signal processing applications and has been ruggedised for harsh environments. Mercury says PowerBlock is fully integrated and programmable, with ‘state of the art’ liquid cooling.
