CES 2012: CSR attains Bluetooth 4.0 Qualification

CSR has announced that all of its products based on the CSR8600 wireless audio platform are now fully compliant with the Bluetooth 4.0 specification, enabling Bluetooth low energy (BLE) functionality. According to the Cambridge based firm, this makes it the first company on the market with a range of Bluetooth 4.0 qualified audio components.

The range is designed to deliver a highly immersive high fidelity audio experience and includes the CSR8670 flash based SoC, the CSR8645/40 stereo ROM and CSR8620/10 mono ROM. Anthony Murray, senior vice president of the Home Group at CSR, said: "These CSR8600 devices can now be used with our family of µEnergy Bluetooth low energy solutions to deliver ultra low power connectivity and simple data transfer for a broad range of wireless accessories." CSR will be demonstrating its products at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2012) from January 10 to 13, Las Vegas.
