Electronics pcb design provider, Black Stick has pledged its support for WorldSkills London 2011 by providing training for Andrew Fielding who will be representing the UK in the Electronics category.

WorldSkills London 2011, the world's largest international skills competition, takes place from 5 to 8 October at ExCeL London. Team UK consists of 43 of the UK's most talented apprentices, employers and learners in 37 skills such as electronics, mobile robotics and electrical installation. Bolton based Fielding is 21 and employed by MBDA UK. He has been training with Black Stick providing him with the opportunity to increase his knowledge and practical skills ahead of WorldSkills London 2011. In particular, the company has been working with Fielding on circuit board layout and design training, two areas which he will be tested on during the four day competition. Black Stick's director, Alan Graham, said: "PCB design is a very niche skill set and Andrew has quickly adapted to our training programme. This should provide him with the skills he needs to fast track him into the front line of pcb design." Fielding added: "I am hugely grateful for the training, advice and guidance that Black Stick has provided me with. Competing against the world's leading engineers over four days will be challenging but I am privileged that along with the support of my employer MBDA UK, I have been able to train with experienced professionals. This support can only set me in good stead for the tough competition ahead."
